Anderson County, Texas Courts Rules of Courtroom Attire, Conduct, and Demeanor Please familiarize yourself with the posted rules - Court officials may, at their discretion, refuse any individual access to this courtroom or court offices at any time. Failure to comply with rules, requests and orders may result in subjects being removed from the court and/or contempt of court or other criminal prosecution. - Cell phones and other electronics must be placed on silent mode or powered off. - Food, beverages, gum, candy, and tobacco are prohibited in the courtroom. - No talking with inmates! • You may not communicate verbally, physically, or visually, or in any other manner with subjects held in custody unless authorized by the court to do so. - Maintain a professional demeanor while in court. • Subjects entering the courtroom are expected to maintain a professional demeanor at all times. When addressing the judge or court officials during court proceedings, speak loudly and clearly so that an accurate court record can be made. All side conversations must be kept to a faint whisper. - Dress appropriately for court. • Dress must be kept clean and professional at all times while in court. Caps, hats, house shoes, shorts, mini-skirts, tank tops, midriff revealing tops, low-cut tops, sagging pants, and very tight-fitting clothing are a few, but not all of the clothing items prohibited. The bailiff/court officials may use discretion to decide whether to allow or not allow certain individuals/clothing items in court. - Photography and audio and/or video recording are strictly prohibited in court unless permission is obtained prior to the proceedings at hand.
