The Erath County Court at Law local rules require agreed orders on discovery objections, sanctions, special exceptions and motions in limine before civil pretrial; jury charges prepared before pretrial; and permit audio recording in lieu of a court reporter at the court's discretion. In criminal cases the docket call is the pretrial date and the article 28.01 deadlines apply, and a plea-bargain announcement must include the plea date. A subpoenaed witness is released only with both sides' consent, and probate testimony may be taken without the clerk present with proof filed afterward. Effective July 15, 1994.
